My Really, Really Late Holiday Decor Post

I am so late to the party with this post - I almost considered not posting it at all. But, since who knows what our holiday decorations will look like next year - I figured it was worth sharing how our house looked in 2011 for Christmas. We went super subtle with teal and silver, gold and white...with a little animal print too (of course). I love the casual look, hopefully you do too.

Smokin'

When I started trying to decide what paint color to use for our playroom, I wanted something a far cry from the bright yellow on the walls from the previous owners. After looking at nearly every pain color Benjamin Moore had to offer, I found myself loving two shades dearly...Smoke and Pale Smoke. Both work so well with the bright primary colors of Brendan's toys and have a nice cool gray undertone. Love that! Ultimately I'll probably end use using Smoke with accents of its neighboring color on the bm swatch, Iceberg..on the paneling inlays for interest.

Painted Paneling

I've been so addicted to Pinterest lately, I've been neglecting to blog as a result! After a few month long pinning binge, I'm back with ideas galore and my next project to tackle at home is the playroom. This room is unique, with paneling detail that I can't wait to paint. I'm thinking of painting the paneling 1 color, with the space in between a darker shade to add visual interest. It's hard to explain, so when I was describing this concept to my hubby, I showed him these Images from Pinterest to help him see my vision.
